Hot on the heels of the upcoming Hong Kong event, it’s the Australia Sevens, to be played at the Adelaide Oval on 7-8 April 2007. And Scotland has been drawn in Pool D along with Samoa, Argentina and Portugal. The thundering Samoans, who won a first ever Cup success in Wellington earlier in the tournament, are still within striking distance of this IRB World Series title and Scotland will have their work cut out when they take them on in the opening game on day one. Argentina is next up, around three hours later, and Scotland finish their pool games with the fixture against Portugal towards the end of the day. Fiji and New Zealand currently lie joint top in the series standings, four points clear of South Africa, with Samoa and England in close contention. The Australian event is number six out of eight in the IRB 2007 Sevens World Series, and is followed by the London tournament, at Twickenham. The series culminates in the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s 2007, at Murrayfield, on 2-3 June where a party atmosphere is guaranteed for all.
